Rev. Aarif G. Bradley was born on May 18th to Annie Walker and Walter Bradley. As a young child, Rev. Bradley was introduced to Christ and church at a young age. He began his service to Christ at his home church, Jericho Baptist Church, Inc., now known as the City of Praise Family Ministries in Landover, MD. Aarif is always remembered by the churches thousands of attendees for being the most vibrant and enthusiastic person in the children’s choir where he sang from age five to nine years of age.
His service at his home church also included being a member of the Usher Board, the Audio/Video ministry, the Security Ministry, the Youth Ministry, and in his teenage years being one of the primary musicians and Praise & Worship Leader. It was at Jericho where Aarif was exposed to ministry and ministry gifts on a scale most do not have the privilege. He learned and grew in the word of God and learned the importance of service and compassion. It should be noted, Rev. Bradley was the only teenager given the opportunity to preach at a Sunday morning service under Jericho’s deceased and most celebrated Senior Pastor.
While serving at Jericho, Rev. Bradley was always afforded opportunities of ministry outside of those walls. At age 9, Aarif, along with 9 other young men, recorded a Gospel Music Production for Washington D.C. Public Access Television called Music of Messengers. Many of those men have gone on to do great things being renowned Gospel song writers, actors in popular movies and TV shows, and being active in the ministry. From there around the age of 10, Aarif would preach his first sermon entitled “No More R&B.” He would receive the opportunity to sing twice for the 44th President of the United States, President Barack Obama. Aarif also sang with the Urban Nation H.I.P. H.O.P. choir under the direction of Dr. Ricky Payton, Sr., where he sang for Presidents, sang behind a variety of popular musical artists, and traveled to various places.
Rev. Bradley is a graduate of Suitland High School for the Performing Arts where he was trained as a classical vocalist, and an accomplished musician and Minister of Music for over a decade. Aarif began his tenure in Music ministry primarily by the training and coaching of his Godfather, Elder Prentice “Pete” Brown. In addition to Elder Brown, there have been a plethora of others who have mentored Rev. Bradley. As a Minister of Music, Rev. Bradley served across the State of Maryland, Tulsa, OK; Erie, PA; Springfield, MA; and San Antonio, TX. In addition, his ministry has taken him several other places as an itinerant preacher.
Rev. Bradley’s experience in addition to music ministry include being a youth Ministry leader, director of Christian Education, and he has great experience in planning and strategic development. A major part of Rev. Bradley’s leadership is training church leaders to be successful and effective in ministry in the 21st century. Aarif is a graduate of the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK with a degree in Ministry & Leadership with a Local Church Pastor emphasis and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity with Regent University with a Church & Ministry emphasis. Rev. Bradley is admired in the various places he has served for his impeccable leadership, administrative prowess, his love and compassion for people, his innovative and out of the box methods for ministry, and his love and care concerning the word of God. He is the recipient of numerous accolades, recognition, and awards for his ministry service and leadership.
The thing most cherished by Rev. Bradley is his family. He always refers to himself without fear of banter as being a momma’s boy! Aarif loves his mother, and he also cherishes his only living grandparent, Rosa Robinson. These two were the apple of his eye until the arrival of his daughter, Ms. Ari’Yel Grace Bradley. Simply put, Rev. Bradley is a loving father, a loving son, a loving brother to his oldest sister, Andress; his brother, Akil; and his twin sister, Aunyè. Aarif has two nephews, his oldest is Gabriel Green and his youngest nephew, Joshua Hawkins, who can be seen on the Huggies pull-up box nationwide.
Pastor Bradley’s favorite saying is “To God be the Glory for the things He has done!”
